2001 SS - Speakers
 

A few years ago, I replaced my front speakers with Dual Electronics 120 Watt 6.5" 3 way speakers. The specifications show that the speakers Impendance are 4 ohms. In another thread, I read that the original speakers were 2 ohms. Do I need to find a set of speakers that are 2 ohms or can I stick with 4 ohms? I have the stock amplifier in my trunk.

From my experience as long as all the speakers are the same ohm, front and rear your gold, you won't hurt your amp.

I do not know the Impendance of the rear speakers. From what I've seen, most speakers have an Impendance of 4 ohms. Is there a benefit in buying 2 ohms speakers versus using 4 ohms for the front?

Depends on what kind of sound you are looking for. Generally speaking, the lower the impedance, the more power you can move through the speaker, which means more volume. A higher impedance results in better "damping" or control of the speaker movement. So the higher impedance will yield a tighter, more accurate sound, although when talking about high quality amps and subs, most people won't notice the difference.
