if you have a circuit tester you will be able to locate a wire on the ignition that shuts off with the key. mine was pink. thats the normal color for that but some may differ. you may also be able to hook it up to a fuse in you box that shuts off with the key/ ie.. power windows. the remote wire does not draw much juice. it just kicks the amp on and off when it senses power, so it should be fine to run on a fuse like that.

I did search the web and found the wiring diagram for the 01 monte carlo radio harness and it stated that I needed to connect the remote wire to the yellow wire. Which, the yellow wire does not exist on the radio harness. So I tried to connect it on the ignition wires that was either pink, orange or yellow and all made the amp come on with the car on and the amp goes off when the car is off. BUT, it left my amp in protect mode and that is mind bogglin. I am lost on what to substitute on connecting my remote wire to my car for NO DRAINING OF THE BATTERY.

hmm. try the power window fuse see if that gets you anywhere.

Its like the smallest thing is holding me back and I don't understand it. I will try to power window tomorrow but I think that before I got my car, someone had did the samething but didn't put the original connections back like how they were. I am reading from everybody forums that they all have the same colors except me.

i had 2 kicker 10 comps with a rockford amp hooked up to my stock head unit, it sounded decent and saved me some money

then when i switched to a kenwood kdc 138 head unit, and some kicker 6x9's at the same time, you will LOVE the difference, so much more control over your bass and doesnt sound as nasty

The reason why I haven't chosen the aftermarket headunit is because I did early sept of 08' and they stole my touch, 7 inch dvd player with 2 memphis 10 sub and a 1400 RMS Punch amp (Brand new, didn't even get a chance to hear the subs). So, im staying away from the aftermarket headunit for now.

helloo.. so this was a great thread but... where do you connect the SNI-35????? do you take out the stereo and connect it to the back??? that is where i am getting confusion and the ****ers who sold it to me didnt give me any info because i was diy and not having them install it.

You connect the SNI-35 to your 6X9 (rear speakers) wires. I've added some more speaker wires for better connection from the original 6x9 wires. Hope this helps!
