Would like to change exhaust

I've got an 01 ss (non supercharged) and I was wondering what I can do to the exhaust to make it a little more beefier sounding, but without making it sound like a honda with one of those stupid huge mufflers. Any ideas?

yup, first get the u-bend before the catyltic converter changed to a straight piece of pipe (you can buy these already made or you can have an exhaust shop do it, its called a u-bend delete) then have a high flow catylitic converter put on, and get rid of the resonator keeping the rear mufflers on the back of the car

that should give you a good sound, i have that done on mine and i'm really happy with it, not too noisy, and it doesn't sound ricey

V6's simply don't get a good raspy sound. You can improve it with the above and addpretty much any aftermarket muffler. I like my Dynomax, but others include: Flowmaster, Borla, Cor$a, and Magnaflow.

RE: Would like to change exhaust

I put on a Dynomax cat back system and it sounds deeper than stock. I too have a non supercharged SS. But, I wish it was louder. I may have to replace the mufflers because one is rusting from the inside out because there were no escape holes drilled in the muffler to drain the condensation that builds up. I might be looking at Flowmaster mufflers when the time comes to replace them. But one thing I like about the Dymomax system is the chrome tips. They look like that classic Monte/Chevelle cow bell shape.

I too am looking to replace my exhaust on my 06 LT2. With the ubend delete, do you have to replace the O2 sensor or get a simulator? I thought the purpose of the ubend was to protect the sensor.
