WILL IT SOUND GOOD?

IF I JUST ADD FLOW 40'S TO MY MONTE WILL I GET A GOOD SOUND? WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE

My advice, in no particular order:

1) Don't use caps... it "sounds" like you're yelling at us.

2) I'm not a fan of Flowmasters... they tend to sound really loud. Although, if you are keeping the rest of your exhaust stock, you have 3 restrictions up front. #1=downpipe, #2 u-bend, #3 resonator. They all quiet the sound, and hold back a little performance.

3) Are you goals strictly to sound better, or get louder, or do you have any performance goals in mind, given the fact that you have the Supercharged 3800? Most who own this model usually look for a little more performance out of their engine, which doesrn't cost all that much to add 30-40HP. If so, then mufflers are one of the last things you need to look at.

4) What's your budget?

5) This post should be moved by a moderator to the "exhaust" section.

Thanks :-)

WHAT? I think he's yelling over the sound of that kick azz exhaust. LOL. :D

I'm not a fan of Flowmaster's either. If you're looking for performance enhancements, there's better ways to go first. The first being the downtube and U-bend delete, and high-flow cat.
Then replace the restrictive airbox intake with the CAI system of your choice. K&N being a very good one.

As for the placement of the thread, if it had an audio or video link of your exhaust I'd keep it in the sights & sounds section. But I agree with Rob. You may get a better response in the exhaust section.

i say no on the flowmasters also i have had them on my trucks and for the quality and sound of them you dont get what you pay for. and i know they advertise them like they would make a lawnmower sound like a nascar but when it somes down to it they will just make a v6 sound like a louder v6 its kinda hard to get a good sound outta anythig other than a v8, so loud is not always better...if they are even loud my 40's never were

I have a 2003 non-sc. Ive had 40's on for 2 years now. They sound real cool. If u decide to swap out the stock ones, go for flowmasters, ive herd most of the other options out there, and Im not impressed with them whatsoever. Im pretty sure the flows are less expensive than dynomax, magnaflow and the rest,AND SOUND BETTER.The super 40s are not that loud at all. They actually are real quiet at driving speed. You get a nice rumble upon startup and acceleration but not "loud" or "droning" at all. I reccomend them 100%. Go for the K&N Intake if u get a chance also, makes it sound even cooler!

I went with some cheap knock off mufflers that sound good in my opinion, in fact the only people that I've talked to that haven't like them were my mom and my girlfriend, but what can I say, they like quite cars... Oh, and I've yet to hear another car that sounds really close so I guess I got that uniqueness factor.

Oh, they are Flo-Pros, the guy that put them on told me that they sound very close to Flowmasters, but with some actually flow to them and they were about half the price.

Here's the clips.
