A typical spreadbore intake is a Quadrajet intake.

Any intake manifold that is a spreadbore has smaller front holes and larget back holes.. hence a "spread" bore.

ok, thanks. Do you know why they would make the holes different sizes?

A popular belief is that a 2 barrel gets better mileage than a 4 barrel.

That is wrong... provided you keep your "foot" out of the gas pedal.

In town a 4 barrel meters better than a 2 barrel... and part of that is the spread bore.

The back 2 barrels are for power ( you know that) and why they are bigger bore.
