What should I get?

I currently have dual cherry bomb glasspacks on my 01 SS. I sorta like the sound but i am lookin for something better. A deeeeeep tone. I have read through the forums a bunch but never found anyhting specific to my car. I bought some flowmaster 40's off craigslist today...but I am second guessing them. I want loud.......but not ugly loud. I need that perfect tone
thanks guys.

From what I hear, Borla mufflers sound pretty good on 3800's. I don't have them though.

No such thing as a 'perfect tone' on a 3800- they're all nasty sounding at some rpm range.

Honestly, glasspacks are going to be one of the deepest sounds you're gonna get.

As for Borla's- the popular type with 3800's has always seemed to be the ProXS series.

How come they dont sound good?

And realy? Glasspacks is the deapest...hm. Would a CAI change the sound at all?

Basically i am looking to make my car unique while improving the performance.

Mostly because of the odd firing order- and being a V6. Makes them very raspy.

I wouldn't say glass packs are 'the deepest'- I'm sure you can find a muffler tuned a little lower- but they're pretty close.

A CAI will change the engine sound a little- but if you have glasspacks in place of the mufflers already- the exhaust noise is going to cover most of it up- especially at WOT.

I like my (magnaflow) GMPP cat-back, downpipe, powerlog combo

But it's not very loud, because you can't have loud and nice in these cars.
