Wanting new exhaust but not sure what to buy...

Hi all. I have a 2005 Monte Carlo LS and everything on it runs well. However, my exhaust sounds like a dying go kart. I wanna make it sound good with out breaking my wallet. I don't really want anything that to loud either because its only an LS. The way I have it right now is just pipes clamped in and a muffler. I was thinking about having it redone from after the catalytic converter all the way back to the muffler. With that being said, I don't know what to be shopping for.

Help anybody?
Please and thank you :)

Believe it or not, the 3400 will sound better than the 3800 with an exhaust.

Get what you like, check out videos online, etc

Thanks everybody

Thanks for the help all! Does anybody know around how much it would cost to do the exhaust?

3400 being a bigger version of the 3100 I have, try a flowmaster 40 series delta flow muffle. Sounds good on the 3100.

It does sound pretty good. This is all great information, the only thing I'm worried about is how much it's going to cost...

If you're just going to have a muffler changed it shouldn't be too bad. Cost of the muffler plus maybe an hour labor. I think I paid in the low 300's when I had my flowmaster put on.

Thats not to bad I guess. Unfortunately, I also need a straight pipe put in in place of the resonator. Ill shop around and see what I can find

If you're worried about cost, go for glasspacks. I'm sure people on here are starting to recognize that I endorse them a lot but they really do sound great(and they're cheap).

I have an 05 LS as well with a 24" glasspack in place of the resonator, and 2 more 12" tubes behind the y-split. Little to no drone, no rasp, nice deep rumbly idle.
