Ok so i have a problem now. I snapped one of the rear crossover pipe studs. The top one for the heat shield. I need to know what size stud it is so i can get a new one but EVERYWHERE i look i cant find it. Does anyone have any idea? Im trying to get it removed and fixed tomorrow but i dont have the bolt or the size. Pleaseeeee help.

I used a torch to heat up the broken stud on mine then I replaced the stud with a bolt .. I have no problem with it.. A bolt works fine..

What about the heat shield tho? How did you get that on?

Keep it off, mine is been off for 10 years, never had a problem!

If there is enough of the stud protruding you might get it out with penetrating oil, heat and a vice grip. If it snapped off flush you'll need to drill it out then use an easy-out and penetrating oil to remove it. Any hardware store should have a replacement stud, or you can order it through a Chevy dealer.
