Default Stupid Question

Hi everyone I had my 07 SS jacked up the other day and noticed what the catalytic converter looked like and it didn't look like it was stock actually it basically looks like a small glass pack. Like I've said in previous posts I've only owned this car a few months. I looked up what a stock CC looks like and it seems to be different. It could be an aftermarket converter but I'd like to be sure. I'm including a pic.

I live in California and we have strict emission laws. Just wanting insight on what I got under there because I'm not quite sure. Thanks.

Looks stock to me (at least similar to what came on my GP GXP).

take a look at this YouTube video on removing a LS4 downpipe - that looks the same also:

Ok yeah it does look the same. It had to be smogged when I bought and it passed but people always have a way around that but this makes me more sure I won't have to replace my CC for my smog. Thanks.

Looks good under there. Got my car from California for that very reason.

Something I noticed and it may just be the picture playing tricks on me but it looks like one of them rubber hangers is about to break. I doubt it would affect anything however.

Cat looks stock. Seems like factory welds.

Ha, I had to look at the picture when you mentioned a rotted rubber hanger. You are right, ready to snap after hitting a couple nice bumps. Good eye...

Ok I may have given some bad info up there ^. It definitely can cause issues having that mount snap. It will put unnecessary tension on the other rubber mounts. I went out and messed around with mine and it was actually stretching the muffler hangers.
