questions??

i have a 2000 Monte SS and i just got back from my local muffler shop with some prices. i was wondering if anyone can help me out with some questions i have. is this a good deal or not? i got a total price out the door of $513.00, that includes (2) Magna Flow Stainless steel mufflers model# 11224 an high flow Magna Flow Ressinator, (2) Magna Flow Stainless steel tips, all the labor to move that O2 sensor on the existing resinator and install everything and all the pipe needed. i was also wondering if anyone has these mufflers on there monte or have heard these mufflers on the 3800 series engine, does it sound good? im looking for a good sound but nothing really obnoxious.

if anyone can help me out i would really apperciate it.
thanks

RE: questions??

Here's what I did on my 02 SS. I went to a local shop (one that I had some work done previously, hence I knew they were good). I had them replace the resonator with a straight pipe. Then had them replace the stock mufflers with a set of Magnaflow turbos. I couldn't hear any difference at first, because it turned out that my cat convertor was completely stopped up. Had Chevy replace that (was still under the 80k warranty) and WOW! I love the sound. Nice mello low tone. Not that much louder at normal speeds, but sounds great at WOT! They even put my chrome tips back on that I had recently bought from Advance. I only paid $175 for everything and am completely satisfied! Seems as though I picked up quite a bit of power, but then again, the cat was clogged up when I bought the car, because it never ran as good as does now (by a long way).

RE: questions??

U-Bend. if you look at your exhaust its a bend located directly after the catalytic converter. it bends up towards the floor pan and back down to house a sensor. its VERY restrictive
