Why r all the parts for the ss, 1986 and back. What is the reason for this. What is the differce in the engines. If u guys know were i cant get parts for a 1988 305 PLEASE tell me.

 

all parts should be the same... my friend and i bought Blackjack headers for our car and the headers fit on both his 87 ss and my 84 ss

 

99 % Of SBC parts are the same like the intake headers water pump cams and some of the heads no matter what year they are i have an 84 with a 350 my heads are off a 400 and i have a cheap intake for a sbc all from the 70's on a 80's block

 

The newer blocks have centrebolt heads (and intake) and a one piece rear main seal (and different flywheel) - but that doesn't affect MOST bolt on parts like headers etc. In most cases it makes no difference - depends what you are looking at.
