New Exhaust and PLOG

4 Attachment(s)
I got the Monte out of storage back in April and I finally was able to order the parts for the new exhaust and power log (PLOG).

I got the 2.5'' catted downpipe (damn PA inspection  ) from ZZP, an entirely custom 2.5'' stainless mandrel bent cat-back exhaust utilizing 3 Magnaflow performance mufflers and a custom fab'd center exit Y-pipe  Please see the attached pics for more detail.

I also got the PLOG from ZZP, and let me just say....boy was that a job putting that sucker on. Surprisingly, I only had to treat the bolts with penetrating fluid once before I was able to get them off :rotfl: Despite all the work, I am very very satisfied with the finished product. I promise to get better pics than what I have attached, it was jut a spur-of-the-moment pic after I finished it. ZZP claims 10 HP gains over stock, which I don't doubt considering the MASSIVE improvement over the stock manifold, but actual power numbers will come later.

It's fantastic too finally have a properly done exhaust system instead of piecemeal improvements to the overall restrictive stock exhaust. I am taking the Monte drag racing for the first time on a track this weekend, and I am hoping for a high 14 second pass (ambitious I know). I will have the results of that probably on Sunday.

Until then, thank you for checking this out, and please leave a comment or two!

Very nice, i'd love to get atleast a plog and downpipe for my car, either that or a set of headers.

If I were you, I would save up for the headers. Especially since your Monte is supercharged. It will only help with the power

Leprechaun93 06-19-2014 10:48 AM

Agreed, but they are quite expensive lol

I KNOW! lol It's insane. You could get 2 sets of good headers for a classic muscle car for one set for our cars. It's sad. All the more why I am almost considering taking my buddy up on his offer for a straight-up trade...My Monte for his 91 Camaro. VERY tempting haha

I have a shop putting on my downpipe as we speak. But did u put yours on yourself?

owens91 06-19-2014 03:40 PM

Never mind on that question looks good. Cant wait to see mines tomorrow. I'm slowly building my exhaust. I just want it all stainless steel and to sound fierce

I installed headers on my 2005 monte SS supercharged only to remove them after 2 months because of the drone noise on the highway.. I installed a plog an a down pipe with u bend delete..

I have the plog, 2.5 catted dp and res delete. Overall, I have been very happy with this arrangement. I don't find it droning and performance seems good (along with other mods).
