Hi I have an 04 Dale Jr edition and I am going to have a new exhaust put in. Does anyone know Wat the stock pipe size is.I thought I read somewhere it was 2.25 inches. If so how big should I go and Wat type of set up should I get ex.- H pipe,X pipe or are those even options. Any input would be awesom I basically want it to be louder with out losing much back pressure and just so you know I'm doing a cat back exhaust first.

 

I personally went with 3 inches all the way back. do you have headers? as far as noise id look at a few youtube videos to see which sound good to you. do keep in mind though, that our 3.8 tend to get raspy at higher rpms. I went with cheap mufflers from summit and once money starts flowing again im going with magnaflow instead for sure!

 

Stock tubing is 2-1/4". For comparison, the Borla system for the 6th Gen has 2-1/4" tubing but the MagnaFlow systems have 2-1/2" tubing.

 

I have the Borla cat-back on my Dale Jr. I'm not sure what the pipe size is but the system is not much louder than stock. I did seem to get better mpg on long drives after getting it installed. If you want louder, the Borla system is not the way to go.
