need a good exhaust sound with power gain

I just bought a couple thrush turbo mufflers. Don't have any more pieces yet. I'd like to get a decent sound without spending an arm n leg. Any other pieces I need or are the mufflers ok by themselves?

what car do you have?

there's like 20 other threads with exhaust talk that you could check out. Youtube will give you your best idea as far as sound goes.

The mufflers will make the most difference in sound aside from deleting the resonators (which sounds like crap if done up with the wrong mufflers). You're not going to get a power gain that the "butt dyno" will notice out of any exhaust system, even if you do headers. However, you should notice a decent increase in fuel mileage (2-3mpg most likely). I don't know how the thrush mufflers sound with the 3800s personally. When you get it put together you should post a sound clip.

True. I hadn't thought of that. No matter what engine though, the "butt dyno" won't feel a power difference with exhaust. And I've seen plenty of V8s sound like crap when the exhaust wasn't done right. Same rules apply, just the V8s are a little more forgiving as far as sound goes.

yeah, it all depends one the mods on the car too, if I were to do the mods I have planned on stock downpipe and exhaust and then went to 2.5" downpipe all the way back, i'd definitely feel it

well if it is a 3800 you can copy my set up. Speed daddy headers, 3" to a 2.5" magnflow muffler then 2.5" to a glass pack and then a Y pipe with a diverter fin inside to balance the flow to each tip.
