Default Muffler

I currently have stock muffler and pipes on my 2004 Monte Carlo LS 3.4 Liter V6. I'm thinking about simply putting a new muffler in, but I don't know any good brand names to fulfill my needs. I want something that sounds good but isn't too loud. Anyone's opinion would be great. Price is also an issue so try to keep the price down

Depends on your area, I hear flows are good for 3.4. IMO I would go with a res remove and a glass pack at the end, but that's what I did in my 5.3 lol

from experience I wouldn't recommend doing a whole lot on a 3400 although they do sound better than a 3800 they tend to drone a lot. I would throw your favorite brand of muffler on it and maybe delete the res and call it a day. Magnaflows sound pretty decent on them.

When you say delete the res, what do you mean by that? I don't understand what you mean by that

the resonator. it is right behind your catalytic converter.

as TheShocker stated it is the large canister under your car behind the catalytic converter. By Resonator delete they are meaning that you would go to a shop and have the resonator removed and a piece of pipe welded in where it used to be, this will raise the volume level of your exhaust and when you put a nice muffler on afterwards it will sound better

Thanks a lot guys. My car had an exhaust leak when I bought it and I had the resonator taken out and replaced with pipe so I'm already a step closer haha. Thanks everyone!
