Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Borla??? 2006 SS
[align=center]2006 Monte Carlo SS[/align]
I want some louder pipesAND more horsepower. I know there isn't that much more horsepower from changing the exhaust system, but I'll take what I can get! I've heard of Flowmaster, Magnaflow and Borla. Which one is the best to get for sound AND performance? Is there more than one choice of each brand with my car? What is a "U-bend" is that on my 06 SS, if so will one of these new exhausts delete the "U-Bend?" |

When looking for an exhaust system dont even worry about horsepower because the gains will be very minimal. And with sound it is mostly personal opinion. There are die hard fans of every brand. Go on youtube.com and listen to different exhaust systems and see which sound you like.

do you do a lot of highway driving? do you mind the droan, flowmaster seems to have a droan on the new v8's
i would go magnaflows, i'm changing my flowmasters over to magnaflows on my v8 tommorrow |

06SS has no u-bend.... don't worry about that.
Borla is the best soundwiseif you can afford it... Magnaflow is the only one dyno tuned and set up for you car... i'd recommend it if you can't get Borla |

Flowmaster are the loudest, I personaly like the Flowmaster sound on V8's, there loud all the time. Magnaflow sounds really good on the 06SS, pretty quiet at idle but gets loud. Borla is about the best sound. Go to wickednicky.com if you decided to go with Borla, and get the Borla ProXS mufflers, cheapest price your going to find on Borla and my g/f has them on her car and they are not loud by no means but have a great tone.

'07 Monte ss...need more sound from my exhaust!!
Can anyone help me? I'm not a motor head so I don't know a lot about modifying my exhaust so anyone who could give me a little advice would be appreciated. I'm looking to get more "rap" out of my exhaust. I'm not saying that money's no object but I don't mind spending a few bucks to get a more hearty sound. Does the whole exhaust need to be switched out or should I go with just mufflers? In either case what are the brands to go with?

well the brands are all over this site.... flowmaster, borla, dynomax, magnaflow.
there is a thread in the General Monte Carlo section that's pinned to the top titled "FAQ: CAI and Exhaust" go have a look... .all kinds of info there. and you can just change the muffelrs... the pipes are okay but you can get it bigger all the way back for a few more hp |
