MAF sensor modification?
ok, i got the 3400 and was wondering if you can remove that mesh screen inside the MAF sensor. be great if anyone knew:confused:

Any reason why you want to do it?
No real gains on those engines for a MAF Descreening. |
well i got a chrome pipe coming from the air box to the ground where it goes to a 4" elbow pipe so its kinda half-assed fored induction as i go faster, so i mean what do you think? can it be done and how do you do it, the descreening? also are there any negative affects to doing so?

There's no positives to doing it, so I just wouldn't bother. Save yourself the time and the risk from damaging something.
Your forced induction doesn't sound so great, what are you talking about? / pictures? |

The minimal gain in airflow is just not worth it. Plus, that screen is an air straightener- is the tubing directly in front of the MAF perfectly straight coming in? I doubt it is, you probably have like a 45* elbow, or a filter (if its an external) right before your MAF. Just leave it in, you'll be much better. well i got a chrome pipe coming from the air box to the ground where it goes to a 4" elbow pipe so its kinda half-assed fored induction as i go faster |
