looking at exhaust options

So im looking at exhaust options for my monte. Alot of my friends are always giving me the "it looks fast, but doesn't sound it" and I totally agree. I want to do something pretty cheap but still get a good deep rumble. Everyone talks about the u-bend delete but will that actually change the sound much? I don't really care for the extra HP im just looking for sound. Im looking at maybe just getting a single flowmaster 40 cuz i don't wanna spend the extra money on duals. How much would it be for the typical exhuast shop to put a new muffler on? Also what type of flowmaster 40 would i need cuz there are so many types

imo, i would get both mufflers replaced and not one, if not just for the sake of uniformity.

yeah, if flowmaster is the sound you want... but personally i don't like them. take the resonator out too..... the u bend won't help with sound that much. if you drive your car in the woods alot, you better leave it to protect that O2 sensor... but if not, take ti out because every little bit helps. and you'rs is an SS right? in that case, replace both mufflers. its the ONLY way to do it, it wouldn't think it would sound right if you didn't, but i've never heard of anybody just replacing one muffler. i've always like the sounds of duals, so go dual :)
