K&N

Does anybody know how to clean a K&N filter?... I know how, but what I really mean is it difficult to do?

To be honest with you guys I rather buy a new filter.
If you know anybody with good deals on K&N filters let me know.

What you guys think:
Should I replace my old one with a new one or just reuse it?

I'm just nervous if I mess anything up.

It's very very simple. Something I do every spring. I'll be doing it in a few weeks actually.

Amazon.com: K&N 99-5000 Aerosol Recharger Filter Care Service Kit: Automotive

I like the aerosol spray oil, much easier to work with.

Just follow the directions, and SET A WHOLE SUNNY DAY ASIDE to do this. You just clean the filter as directed, then spray a light spray of oil onto the filter so it turns pink again. Then you let it sit outside in the sun for HOURS. I do a whole day just to make sure no oil can wisk off and ruin my MAF sensor.

I am going to type words of blasphemy... I got rid of mine. I just switched over to a Spectre filter, and I LOVE IT! The one that came with my kit was originally for a motorcycle. It was designed for a Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 and the fit was not where I wanted it to be. I changed it out and I couldn't believe the difference. Just something to consider...

Also the recharge kit should last 2-3 cleanings. Depending on how much you use of the cleaner.

Which is only $13 every 3 years, which I prefer over buying a new filter every year.

Thanks for the info and the link.
I'll just order that now and continue the other procedure when the weather gets better.

Now all I got to do is change my supercharger oil... Before I do that I need to replace my pulley and my supercharger belt.
If anyone recommend a good pulley and a supercharger belt bring it down here.

Thanks.
