Intake help!?
 

Does anyone have any ideas for an intake system on an 05 monte LS? one that wouldnt void the warrenty and wouldnt have to move the computer.

Most of them are safe..... Unfortunately, most of them require you to re-mount your PCM which is an easy deal.

Just to clarify what will and will not void a warranty, if you were to install an aftermarket intake and your transmission messed up, the intake would not be just cause to void your warranty unless they can prove that the intake mod was the cause of the failure. You have to question any modification you make to a car still under warranty but I would not let that stop you from adding mods.

I modified my factory intake system by way of gutting the inside and added a K&N during my warranty period and nothing was ever said. I even had it in the shop under warranty for an idle problem with my TB screen removed and the air box gutted that ended up needing an injector cleaning. All performed under warranty..


Now, that being said don’t lead the dog to the water bowl if you ever have to take it back to the dealer. Let them find the problem.
