Intake on 2005 Impala SS

I know this isn't an Impala forum, but I was just wondering if ya'll knew what CAI works in the 2005 Impala SS? I'm currently looking into trading my 2002 MC LS for that car. I was looking into the Wizaired, but there are a couple of different options to chose from there and I wasn't sure which was the right one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i would assume the 3.8 is in the SS, so the 3.8 option is what I would chose? what does the choices include? I remember when I got mine i could chose 3.4 or 3.8....

If it's an '05 SS, I believe it is an L67 in there...supercharged 3.8. If so, any CAI for a 3.8 liter (IfI'm wrong and it is not supercharged)or 3.8 supercharged will work.

Did you notice a pretty nice difference with gas mileage/acceleration with your K&N then?

So tell us, is your Impala Supercharged or Naturally Aspirated?

It's supercharged. I'll get some pics of it on here sometime next week after finals are finished at school.

Well i will say that the K&N FIPK makes my supercharger scream at me. it woke it up so much, they boast that it makes like 13 horsepower for the car. better response, and a little more fuel efficency. maybe a mpg or two. i'd say that the money is deffinately worth it

O yeah the K&N in my opinion looks the best. the wizaird may be a little cheaper but it kinda looks cheap in my opinion, kinda like pvc pipe and plexiglass, it may be better for performance, but i would give up the extra maybe 1 horsepower for the look of the K&N ill post a pic if i can get one of it

Do you know if anyone has had problems with the air flow sensor after the K&N has been put in? I've talked to a few mechanics and they said that sometimes the MAF can get oil on it because oil bleeds through the air intake and throws a check engine light. Anyone heard of that?

yes it does, all you have to do is spray some sensor safe brake clean on the maf sensor after a 1000 miles or something then it will clean it and you shouldn't have the problem until the filter is cleaned again, its just the oil coming off the filter when its still wet
