Intake on 06 3500 v6

I've been searching these forums and many different manufacturer's websites to try and find an intake for my 06 MC LT2. No one seems to make one. I've read about gutting my airbox, but thats not something I want to do. Any recomendations?

post a picture of your engine bay and where your air box is and what not, might just be able to slightly modify one from a 3400 or 3800 engine.

I will try and get a picture up tomorrow. Need to have some good light to take the picture. Thanks for the response.

You may also have to get creative and make your own.

There are a few people here that have made them from Home Depot available materials.

Keep in mind that modifying any of these components will void your warranty.

I had to use my cellphone to take the pictures but you get the idea of where the airbox is located.

ORIGINAL: NYCRISS

Keep in mind that modifying any of these components will void your warranty.

Will it void your entire warranty?

IMO: I could see it voiding parts or repairs under warranty if the aftermarket parts/modifications were responsible for a warranty covered part/function failure.

Sciggy: The airbox location and look is very similar to the 3800. You may want to play it safe and gut your factory airbox for better flow until they come out with the aftermarket goodies or make your own. Another problem you may have regarding aftermarket parts is that the 3500 may not attract many manufactures to produce many aftermarket parts for it as they have shown to in the past with the 3400.

I did want to make a note regarding NYCRISS's warranty statement. Mod responsibly, if there is an outside chance that a mod is going to cause damage do not do it. Safety and the longevity of your car is more important than a few extra HP...

Intakes arent prone to damaging cars though. A few extra HP, maybe 1mpg better, car sounds a little different. I figured that they probably wouldnt make one for the 3500 as you stated, but it was worth a shot. I might just drop a standard K & N filter in there then. I'm not sure I feel comfortable gutting the air box. Thanks for the help.

actuall there was a law passed stating that no aftermarket equipment or modifications can void your warranty unless they are the exact reason for the problem

It will absolutely void any coverage on the motor. It really depends at that point how your dealer chooses to handle repairs and if they are willing to go to bat for you if and when the time comes.
Mod wisely.
