so im new to cars...sortof, i know some stuff, not alot, i got a 1988 monte carlo Ls with the 4.3 V6, and its my first car, i was wondering what this part is called.. from the air filter, their is that tube that comes off the bottem of the air filter.. it and connects to the side of the engine, what exactly is it connected to?, because that tube keeps falling off, and where its connected to is extremely rusted.. i think it might be the exhaust manifold?

Welcome to the site. The part you are referring to sounds like the exhaust heat riser tube. B EMISSION CONTROLS-V6 (LB4/4.3Z); G EMISSION CONTROLS-V6 (LB4/4.3Z);. Fits: 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo | Nalley Buick GMC Brunswick it looks like part 57 on this picture but there's no part number. so I don't know if it is available. I hope this helps
