hooker headers. dual 40 series flowmasters
i was wondering how this will sound on an 86 monte with a stock 305 in it. and if anyone has done this could they post a sound clip of there car or any sound or video of a monte carlo with this combo on a 305.

GREAT IDEA! And when the 305 gets tired, and you swap in the 355 you're already set with the best headers and a fantastic exhaust. personally I'd go with the 2.5 inch just in case you choose to upgrade the engine later. pj

I had that combo on my '83 when I had it and it souned very nice. I agree to go with the 2 1/2 too. Even if you don't upgrade to a bigger power plant it will give it a more deeper tone, and if ya do that is one less thing ya have to worry about.

okay thanks. i think with when i open the cut-outs it should get plenty loud. now hopefully it won't cost much to have fast go put on and build my exhuast.

RE: hooker headers. dual 40 series flowmasters
i called the shop that i was gonna have build my exhuast and they want 400 for 1 flowmaster 40 series and dual exhuast. so i think i may just keep my stock piping and buy the muffler myself and have them just install it. now my question what size is the stock exhuast. so i order the right muffler from www.jegs.com

RE: hooker headers. dual 40 series flowmasters
i would say it could be 1.5 to a 2 inch but you can order your mufflers and the can weld adpaters on to the muffler to fit a factory pipe hope this helps
