header downpipe question
 

so i've been looking at TOG headers, and im just waiting to build up the funds to get them right now. my question is, do i HAVE to buy the TOG downpipe from zzp?

i have a zzp downpipe now w/ hi flow cat, and i was hoping to just chop off the cat from that and weld it to the shorty downpipe that comes with the TOG's. would that work?

if i chopped off the front and connected it, leaving the rear part of my downpipe alone. anyone tried it?

i was hoping on not needing to buy another downpipe. kinda pointless.
i guess if i do, i could just sell mine now. but i'd rather not.

hey man ask biggriggs he has a set of togs... i think he said the tog dp will fit with the new zzp headers i don't know about the other way around... sorry man!

You could try that.
I mean, the shorty downpipe is made to weld up to the stock cat.
I doubt that the magnaflow on the zzp dp and the stock cat are in exactly the same position, but I would imagine that any competent exhaust shop could weld a section of 3" pipe in between the two.

People do sell TOG downpipes fairly often though, so you may want to figure out how much it would cost to do either one. Your zzp dp is fairly new I take it, so you may be able to get a better deal by selling that and buying a used TOG downpipe.

Oh, and as far as the TOG/ZZP dowpipe compatibility, what I was saying is that the ZZP headers use the same exact downpipe as the TOG headers.
ZZP also makes a downpipe that replaces the stock downpipe for people that are still using the stock exhaust manifolds, which is what 2003supersport has.
The header downpipe and the downpipe for the stock manifolds are completely different.

ya i got my zzp dp about 10K ago, still in nice shape. thats probably what i'll do. maybe i'll just save and go with a new TOG dp.
