has anyone??

I have been reading all the exhaust system posts and was wondering..........Has anyone removed the ubend and resonator and left the stock mufflers. How does it sound? Any better performance?

The Ubend is worth 8HP.... Or so they say.

I am not sure about the sound with stock mufflers but I would think it would make a slight difference if at all sound wise.

I'm wondering about replacing the resonator with a straight pipe also. I think it is there as a quieting piece more than anything else.

If you like it really loud, remove it. Rummor has it that it's just too annoying without something there in place of the resonator. Some replace it with a glasspack or a high flow race muffler to tone it down a bit and to give it a deeper tone.

no granted i didnt remove the ubend but i did replace the resonator with straight pipe and my car is not very loud at all. its just right for me. it really depends what kind of muffler you get on the end. i got magnaflows and they are supposed to not be as loud they just add more power. anyways if your not really sure what you want to do get your performance mufflers on and drive around for a while and then if its still not loud enough have your mufler guy chop that off afterwards. that what i did and my guy only charged me 2o dollars extra for the resonator delete.

hope that helps.
