Glasspacks
With a glasspack, do you lose any horsepower? I keep thinking I would if I got some because of the straight piping design. If I do lose any, is it minimal so that I wouldn't really notice?

RE: Glasspacks
WHAT? who told you you would lose horsepower? tahts all i got is a glasspack.
you'll gain horsepower... you might lose a little torque but it isn't that much at all. |
RE: Glasspacks
If you're replacing a normal chambered muffler with a straight through glasspack- you should stay about the same or add a pinch of hp up top (stock mufflers on most newer cars don't really flow that bad), but it'll be way louder and more irritating.

RE: Glasspacks
Ok, I was looking at http://www.flopro.com/Twister.htm and it said loss of horsepower so I was baffled and thought "Wait, I must be reading something wrong here" so I came here to ask.
I've been looking at new exhaust and I like how some glasspacks sound but I also like the SLP Powerflo... |

Insignificant Loss Of Horsepower From Open Headers |
RE: Glasspacks
ahh.. that explains it. should give you a tad more torque though.
