Cool Flowmaster Exhaust?

Hello all,
I recently bought a 2005 Monte Carlo SS and starting to put together aftermarket parts to add to it. One of which parts being an exhaust. I prefer the sound of flowmaster over magnaflow, and was wondering if anyone else knows if the flowmaster exhaust mufflers will fit the same on the 6th gen as it does the 7th gen. The website shows a kit for the 7th gen (or the revamped 6th gen as some may have it) but none for the 6th gen. If anyone else knows of a good sounding brand to add, reply below or if anyone has put that kit on their Monte and knows it fits that would be awesome!! I was looking at the flowmaster series 40 muffler (link:42441-40 Series Muffler ? 2.25 Offset In / 2.25 Center Out ? Aggressive Sound)
Thank you!

I'm partial to Borla since they tend not to be quite as obnoxiously loud as flowmasters do. They also happen to make a catback system for the 6th gen cars

I'd be interested in seeing pics once it's all done.

Considering that the engines are completely different between 6th and 7th gen, I would doubt the exhausts are identical.

Are you bolting on yourself, or having a shop weld it up?

If you are having the shop do it, I would just let them order the muffler and do the install, they'll make it work if you want the muffler that you want. If you are ordering a cat-back, I would make sure the listing specifically mentions your car, because the hangers could be different.

I personally think the flowmasters are a little too loud on the 3800, I have the GMPP exhaust set up, which is an unbranded magnaflow with 18" resonator and it seems to have a good growl.
