Exhaust Switching/Let's hear you guys' Opinions!
Greetings, guys!
I must apologize for my lack of posting. College has kicked my butt. I used to have an 01 SS, but now that I have graduated, I now own a 07 Monte SS! I've owned it since 2013. I will post photos of it once I have the time, and once my setup is finished! Currently, I have a pair of Series 40 Flowmasters, with a Res Delete, and Resonated Tips. Although I love the sound, I'm looking for something a bit louder now to prepare for next spring. I'm specifically looking for the SLP Loudmouth 1. I know there's a couple of members in here with that Setup in this forum. Where I'm stumped is, which type to buy. I know some guys claim that they are "Mufflers", but from what I've researched, they're resonators. Does anyone know what specifically they are? Also, what size do I get? From my research, it says that the SLP LM1's are Resonated at a 2.5 Diameter, but the 3 inch ones are considered "Mufflers." I just don't want to get the wrong set, to potentially compromise the potential sound. I'd like some help from the Experts! Thanks guys! |
Best bet is to check youtube, SLP loudmouth 1 or 2's are the way to go for LS4's. You would probably want 2.5" as that'll fit better into your factory system. Technically the 1's are considered resonators while 2's are mufflers.

I have not heard it with no mufflers and the in place of the stock resonator so I really can't answer that question (nor have a heard of it being done, so you could be one of the only ones) but in the "Car world" Those SLP resonators are called SLP loudmouth 1 mufflers because pretty much everyone uses 2 that uses them :)

I notice that it gets a LITTLE bit raspy on Park on yours. Did the Rasp go away once they broke in a little bit? |
