Engine performance

What has everyone done for their 3800 series 2 in there 99 monte Carlos for exhaust/exhaust manifolds? Anything besides stock. Looking to get some more power without making it sound like ****. I'm not familiar with these motors so I dont know exactly what I have for power to the front wheels now.

If you're just looking for a sound change, I'd start with swapping mufflers. That'll be the best bang for the buck. As for which to choose, I'd spend some time on YouTube looking up various FWD stock cars (monte, grand prize, etc) to see what sounds best to you. The bad thing is that 3800s in general are known to not sound good, especially the louder they get. The closer to straight pipe you get, the more rasp and drone you'll end up with.

I wouldn't suggest touching the manifolds on a 5th gen, especially on a nearly stock car. That hump in the lower firewall makes headers a giant pain.
