Default E-Cutout help!!

Hey all,
I'm wanting to order an electric cutout for my '06 SS within the next day or two hopefully. I've been doing plenty of research and have found that the DMH e-cutout is the best way to go. However, their website shows that they don't sell a 2.25" system. Can I order a 2.5" and just slip it over the top of my stock pipes? Maybe that's how they intend them to be installed... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

it'll slip over fine, the shop can shrink it to 2.25 also if you need them to

You should just do some bigger exhaust.

I went to DMH's website, looks like a quality product. Does their switch permit different levels of operation? My electronic QTP e-cut out switch lets you go from closed to wide open and to anywhere in between. I like this, because sometimes wide open is just to loud for cruising down the streets.

I looked at the QTP cutout as well, but I read a lot of reviews that said people have had trouble with it rusting out and the motor quit working. I just want to make sure I get the best product for my money. And I don't want to spend too much!

I just installed an E-cutout and its pretty cool. I bought mine from Badlanz for $165, so it wasnt too expensive but at the same time you do get what you pay for quality wise. There is a bit of a leak at the valve i believe. Ive seen a lot of great reviews for the company that you have been looking at and i think for the money its well worth it!

Your gonna love the way it sounds. Makes my v6 sound like a blaring V8!!!!

I have had my QTP E-cut out for almost 3 years now and it works like a champ. I tend to not drive my Monte when it's raining though. But who knows perhaps I'm just lucky. Anyway you choose to go, your Monte will never sound the same , it will sound like a beast. Good luck.........

I went ahead an ordered the DMH, and the guy I talked to said they can crimp, for lack of a better word, the ends down to 2.25 so it'll work just fine. And yes, zippy02, I'll be able to control how open it is, which I love! I'm excited to get it all installed when it comes in hopefully before the end of the week! Thanks everyone for the posts!
