cat and ubend questions
ok so my cat is stopped up and throwin codes. i take it to the muffler shop to see about gettin a new cat he said 185 installed for a magnaflow hi-flow cat. is this a good cat? also i asked about deleating the ubend and he said it was a tossup and the light may still stay on since under throttle exaust gas comes out in a spiraling vortex manner and moving the o2 sensor to the side may put it in a blank spot where the gas wont hit it. is this a possible issue? has anyone ever had this problem?

RE: cat and ubend questions
It shouldn't really matter... worse case scenario, put in the O2 sim... it's well worth itreplacing the u-bend and resonator for straight pipe. Price for that hi-flow cat is reasonable enough... try and make a good deal for the rest of the work, since it's already up on the hoist, and they're cutting the pipe off anyways. It's just 1 more weld at each end, and a piece of pipe... shouln't be more than $225-$240 all inclusive.

RE: cat and ubend questions
what about just getting the whole down pipe wouldn't that be about the same price as just the cat and he would be getting some more performance too?

RE: cat and ubend questions
ok took the car in this morning and picked it up at lunch. guy installed the magnaflow cat but left the ubend for now. gonna make sure the issue is fixed. (had check engine light on with cat codes) but seems to me to have lost some takeoff power.

RE: cat and ubend questions
That is not right at all. I would check with another shop as well and get that ubend ripped out.
