Cai

So my CAI will be here in about a week, I have heard tho that it may not be beneficial to install it until I am ready to get my dyno tune done....what are your guy's thoughts? I have just heard it will hinder my performance because my computer will try and compensate for it....Thanks

Install it right away. You won't benefit hardly at all from a dyno tune with just a CAI. I would wait until you do a few more things before you do a dyno tune, like intake cam and headers. Then you'll see a good gain from a dyno tune.

I have aftermarket exhaust, and plan on doing a few more things before the tune as well, as you suggest, but I was just curious if I should wait to do the cai install as well....Thanks

I am mostly worried that my car will not run right if it is not setup for the new intake, throw codes, etc etc...

dude u won't throw any codes, it won't blow up, and it won't fry your computer. the only thing it will do is make your car sound better, give you a little more power, and raise your mpgs. you will see better results if you install it correctly also, if you stick in in the engine bay make sure u have a heat sheild for the filter, otherwise u have a hot air intake and that only hurts your monte

cool....its an intake from cold air inductions, with the full thermal air box, so goo there... Thanks for the input

I put the same CAI on my car(2006, 3.9) and got about a 2-2.5 mpg increase and no codes or anything like you're concerned about.

just make sure to disconect the battery when you install it because you are going to be moving the computers around to the new setup. the reson why i said that it will reconise the work that you did after install and reconect of battery.

just installed the cai, i can feel the difference in the pedal a little....i was very disappointed with the product, had to bend an air conditioner line to avoid rubbing and modify the box a bit because of the starter (dent the box slightly)...could have been designed much better, especially with the mounting screws, but it looks nice and seems to have a little more get up, so whatev
