best mufflers for 3800?

Looking to putting an exhaust on my Monte. Looking at getting a set of cherry bomb glass packs and putting them in place of my mufflers. Anyone have any ideas?

You're going to want to keep the 3800 quiet - they won't sound good once it gets loud. You could try replacing your resonator with a glasspack (Magnaflow or Cherry Bomb) and see how you like that.

If you want to go further you can pick up some Magnaflow mufflers - the discontinued GMPP cat-back exhaust system that was once offered was an unbranded Magnaflow system, and a lot of people were happy with that.

I just wanna mess with the mufflers not the resonator.

It could be a combo of mods in my car (from the plog, the ZZP down pipe), but I have the stock mufflers and no res and I like how it sounds. But I agree, the GMPP (re-branded Magnaflow kit) is a great sounding kit for these cars.

I have my resonator still...

I have cat back duals from the factory...
However, I changed out my mufflers with Xcellerator Chambered Mufflers...
What a difference! It has a Great Sound without sounding like a rice burner!
Its not to loud or to quiet... You might wanna look into a set..I also have tail pipes with Chrome tips!;)

Here is what I have, no mufflers and a glasspack in place of the resonator. Search around youtube to get an idea of what you might want.

original owner of my monte installed a SLP Loudmouth exhaust when the car was first owned in 2004/2005. I am very pleased with the sound. It came complete with a resonator delete. Almost no rasp. everything from the oxygen sensor to the engine is all stock. I'll post a good quality video tomorrow for ya ;)

edit:
zjerry: I'm guessing SLP changed the design? or are those a universal design?
