Bad Vibration

I recently bought a 95 Monte Carlo Z34 from a friend of mine. The car is in great condition except for one awful vibration. Now this is not a suspension vibration by any means. The vibration is very wierd to describe but I will do my best. When I accelerate the vibration does not exist and neither does it when I am coasting, the only time this happens is when you just have small pressure on the accelerator to basically keep the same speed. Now if you are in Drive and not over drive the vibration only happens up to 45 -50 mph. Anything over that and it will not vibrate. Now if you are in overdrive it will do it up to around 60-65mph and will not happen at speeds over that. When this vibration occurs if I let of the gas and hit the gas again it will stop completely until I hit that constant spped pressure on teh accelerator.

The vibration feels alot like if you had a manual transmission and you accelerated in 4th gear, but you should have been in 2nd gear. The vibration really shakes the whole car to the point that every possible thing in the car is shaking. It does not set off the Check Engine light at all.

Anyone have any ideas? I am thinking maybe the tranny, but I was wondering if maybe it was a sensor like the Throttle position sensor.

EDIT: Sorry just noticed I might have put this in the wrong forums. If so I apologize.

RE: Bad Vibration

Have you checked the motor mounts?

Is it more a hesitation or a vibration?

RE: Bad Vibration

I do not believe that this would be a moutermount issue just because of the feel of th evibration. I have had bad moter mounts in the past and know what those feel like. thanks for the idea though.
