2001 MONTE CARLO part blew off throttle when jump starting car

i just got this monte carlo 3 weeks ago and its one thing after the other.

my main issue at the moment is trying to figure out what i blew off my throttle as i jump started my car

symptoms it has is:
-high idle
-idle randomly goes high then low after a few seconds when parked
-hissing noise
-car shuts off when idle gets low

i know the normal suggestion is check/replace the idle air control or throttle position sensor or maybe even the pcv valve BUT im keeping my eye on that gaping space that was once plugged or connected to something

ANYONE KNOW WHAT FITS IN THIS HOLE?

LOCATED : top of throttle body (if you flash a light in this hole you can see the valve open and close)

I'm thinking MAF sensor. Can you post a picture of it?

x2, pics would help, you cant upload them here but if you go somewhere like photobucket and post the link code then it will work for you.

Which engine do you have?

Did you jump start it with a dodge nitro or something?

MAF Sensor for sure, exact same thing my Mazda used to do, i know its a different car, but its gotta be the MAF Sensor..

Based on the hissing noise, the high idle, and the car stalling when the idle gets low, I'd guess that you blew off something in the vacuum system.
Worth double checking that everything is still installed and not leaking before you go replacing your maf or throwing other parts at the problem.

Edit...Errr, just read your whole post instead of just the first half...If you're seeing the throttle blade moving, that's not supposed to happen...and could be causing your vacuum leak. Would need a pic to see what you're talking about exactly though.

There is a picture of a throttle body for a 3800 powered car. Assuming you have this engine, is the arrow pointing at the piece missing, or is it the larger black piece to the right?

Arrow points to the IAC, and to the right is the MAF sensor

I gotta agree.. But if it's the 3.4, the only thing I know of that's sticking straight up (that has wires on it) is the air temp. sensor- on mine it is upstream from the MAF sensor and right next to the throttle. The MAF sensor is closer to the air box.

Any update on this?
