03' cat back? ZZP?

Hello friends! Quick question... Recently installed a ZZP 2.5" downpipe with cat... Having a major leak at the connection to the downpipe and resonator.... It's all stock and the flange is rusted out. Replacing gaskets only buy me time. So, I see ZZP now offers a 2.5" cat back system for $500. That's probably at the upper limit of what I'm willing to spend. Would this be a good system for me? I'd honestly like to have a nice sound... Someone mentioned on here about replacing the resonator with a straight pipe? I assume I'd have to find a custom shop for something like that? Any thoughts on what would be a good way for me to go? Thank you!

I would bet you can get a CAT back system made and installed locally for a lower price. I had a 3" system installed for less, it's not stainless steel, but no big deal to me, I keep it painted. Don't go to the big box names like Midas etc. they will want top dollar. Just shop around for a mom / pop exhaust shop and you will come out okay.

The ZZP kit isn't full stainless either.

I second going to a local exhaust shop that you trust and just having them put it together with your mufflers / resonator of choice.

local shops are better and the best part is that its not stainless steel, so it should last your 5-7 years. that was the case when i had 2.25 pipes and luckily the pipes finally rusted after 5 years so i upgraded to 3 inch.it worked out because i recently just put a bunch of parts on which would require bigger pipes. if you plan on doing major upgrades id definitely reccomennd going to a custom shop that has a mandrel. i paid 350 from the cat back, well worth it, you might be able to find cheaper but make sure the shop is good and remember mandrel machine
