Default MY Monte Carlo wont start/crank

Over the last couple of weeks my car just doesnt start, you turn the key you get nothing but power. I have checked the battery it is good, new distributor, and new starter all correctly hooked up still nothing. What else could i check and see what the problem is? I have taken the cables off and cleaned them and made sure no rust on battery cables and still nothing. Every know and then the car will turn over and start no problem, but you can drive it for a little bit turn it off and start right back up or more often than not it doesnt start back up. I dont know what else to check, it is a 95 Z34 3.4L What else could i check at home before i have to pay more money to get it towed and check at a mechanic shop?

The check engine light comes and and then you go to Autozone or AAMCO and get a free computer check up.

(if your car was running)

Otherwise you have to have someone come to your house with a scanner or tow it to a mechanic to have someone plug in a scanner to your car.

I don't think it needs to run to see if there is a code, just need to turn the key to ACC.

It's probably your VATS. Does the security light stay on?

Anyway, you could buy a new ignition switch and keys, or bypass the VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System).

Here's a walkthrough:

I had the same problem with my 98 LS. My problem was the anti-theft module. Got a new one from the junkyard for 5 bucks, all fixed.
