Yay or Nay? (Painted Calipers)
Jason, bought the Dupli-Color aluminum engine enamel at pepboys. I'd make sure it has the rating of 500 degrees. They make engine enamel that is rated to 1000 deg. but I think the 500 is more than enough.
Red is NOT the way to go on your purple Monte.
On your color car, my preference would be aluminum, grey, or gloss black.
Another option would be body color. I've seen someone do that on a Z28 with your color. Looked good. But wouldn't hold up very well unless done in a hi-temp paint.

I painted mine black, same as the car. Now I wish I'd painted them red. The new F-body calipers are going to be painted silver, with a red bow-tie engraved in them. Purple would be GREAT, if you could find a high temp paint. Maybe mixing blue and red? Finding blue in a can might be a chore.
That's my suggestion: buying a can each of brush on red and blue and mixing them to get close to the color of your car

I think I may go aluminum or black with decals. I can get a purplish caliper paint but dont want to go that route. If it was my girlfriends car maybe. Thanks for all the suggestions guys keep them coming!
I like the black with decals route, I may end up going the same way if I ever paint mine. See if I can't get some reflective charcoal colored vinyl so that the decals match my car and pop at night.
