Default Wal-Mart Wind Shield Washer Fluid Put in the Oil..

My brother in law has a Chevy Aveo.

He took it to the dealer because it has been running like crap. It turns out that when Walmart changes his oil they dispensed Wind shield washer fluid into his oil according to the dealer. Don't ask me why he takes it to Wal-Mart..

I have had antifreeze in my oil on a previous car from a blown gasket..

How does the dealer know it is washer fluid? The alcohol?

Jeff

I do my own oil because then if something is wrong I only have myself to blame....

He doesn't do his because he rents and that is not allowed there.. He should just do it in my driveway or garage...

Here is the damage....

"It will be repaired tomorrow after replacing the intake gaskets, flushing out the crankcase, drying it up and replacing the oil and filter. It is costing Chris $450.00."

The Wal~Marts around here do auto reapairs too. Sounds like they got the setup where there`s a bunch of hoses hanging down from the ceiling. Each with something different in it. One for antifreeze, one for washer fluid, one with bulk 10W30 motor oil, and so on.

I agree with the what the dealer said. Sure you know the kid making minimum wage at Wal~Mart did it. But good luck in getting anything out of them. At most you may get a coupon for a free oil change. But only after arguing for a month and threatening a law suit. I would only get work done at Wally World if I was stuck and had no other choice. I don`t care if you`re driving a Cadillac or a Yugo. I don't trust them.
