Default Upgrade options with $1,000

Just got some money and im planning on upgrading my engine. What are some good upgrades to go in my 2004 Monte Carlo SS N/A. I already have a CAI, resenator delete, and flowmaster exhaust.

In the intake section of the forum there is a GREAT sticky on Mod Plans for your 3800, just look for the L36 section

Your next step for the engine if you choose to remain NA would be ER rockers, and HV3, downpipe (or headers), and a pcm.

An HV3 is some sort of intake insert that gives you like 10 extra horses or so I think. ZZP sells it. If you plan on staying non-boosted, you could do an aftermarket camshaft install rather than rockers - they're about the same price, but the cam is more work for install.

Did you read the mod plan thing for 3800s as suggested above? I could've swore I put it in there.

It can be found only at www.zzperformance.com (not trying to promote the company, they are really the only people that make an intake insert for the 3800s). Basically, it is an insert for the intake manifold (goes between the upper and lower intakes) that increases upper rpm power.

An HV3 with the Rockers all at once is an amazing change in car ride.

ended up buying a ZZP PCM, some HIDs, a u-bend bypass thingy you know what im talking about for about $430 (kinda high cause i got next day air lol for this weekend) . Got some more money so i think ill get a zzp downpipe into a 3" cat-back exhaust with a magnaflow hi-flow cat. i saw something somewhere in the forums where they had problems with back pressure or something with the 3" cat-backs... anyone want to inform me on this? thanks
