Update thread

Hey all, now that i finally got around to doing some work on my car i thought i'd open up a thread for updates and such.

Today i finally got my sunroof closed. It still doesn't work but atleast its closed and looks much nicer:rolleyes: Here is a picture of before and after.

Then after doing that i took the car for a much needed wash and i was going to start compounding the scratches on the trunk but the compound i had was dried up and useless:rolleyes:

Glad to see it's finally closed!!! Maybe next time when someone says it's broken you'll listen :rotfl:

Your trunk looks like the Camaro's. I can't stand it, I can't wait for a nice weekend to finally get the compound out.

Maybe this weekend when I'm up at my parents' I can TRY.

yea haha, curiosity got the better of me and i needed to find out what was wrong and now i know. Tommorow i'm going to buy some new compound and hopefully get some work done, theres alot of scuffs around the car but that is by far the worst.

B oy that first pic of the sun roof befor you fixed it is a sure FAIL

Looks so much better without all that gook around it.

Leprechaun93 10-07-2011 05:15 PM

Yes it much better but that gook stopped it from leaking while it was pooring here last week.

That trunk looks pretty bad good luck getting it buffed out

Leprechaun93 10-07-2011 06:58 PM

yea it is but i dont think they're that deep really. Even if i can get them to look better thats still a plus.

I know how you feel about the sunroof. I had to use a screwdriver to close mine a couple years ago, lol. Get a junkyard motor and you'll be all set. Keep up the good work on your 5th gen. They're starting to become a rare breed these days.

Leprechaun93 10-07-2011 08:54 PM

Yea i see a ton of 6th gens on the road and the ocasional 5th gen. I dont think my problem is the motor itself as it works fine, i believe its the linkages and the whole sliding mechanism itself that gave me the issue.
