Traction control / ABS light

Today while driving back from Boston the ABS light and the service traction control lighs came on. I was driving at a steady speed and the road was not slippery.
Does anyone know what the problem may be?
I tested the abs by locking up the brakes on a snow covered road and the ABS did not kick in. Also the brakes seemed to lock up.

Any ideas? car seems to ride ok now but the ABS and the Traction control off lights are still on.

Thanks
Bob

RE: Traction control / ABS light

those two lights coming on will not affect the ride of the car in any manner. however you already know what the problem is when you tested the abs brakes and they did not work. Normally with the abs brakes not working and the light coming on it is a sensor problem. If i was you i would just call your local gm dealer and talk to a service manager.

RE: Traction control / ABS light

I have been searching other forums on this and found out something that may or may not be helpful to others who have had similar problems.
FWIW
On the corvette forum I've read that the wheel sensing connectors to the hubs sometimes get loose or even rusted. Don't know how different the connectors are but I guess its worth a look.
I plan on checking this out to see if it is the cause.

Bob
