Thank God!!

When I bought my 2003 SS last August, I went ahead and got the extended warranty. I usually don't get those but I decided to this time and thank God I did. I got a recall letter in last week for a potential cabin fire so I took it to a GM dealership to get fixed, I mentioned about some problems I have been having with my car and told them I have extended warranty through a company. The repair manager told me not to be optimistic about things because most of the warranty companies are ripoffs and weasel out of paying for things. To make this long story shorter..lol, the warranty company paid for everything such as new alternator, new water pump, lower intake gasket( by the looks it could have failed at any time) new turnsignal/headlight dimmer switch, and new abs wire harnesses to the front hubs. Only thing I paid for was a new thermostat, coolant flush, and new pcv valve in which I requested to get done. out of close to a 2k bill, I only paid $230 of it and $100 of it was the deductible. I'm just so happy to get these things done and relieved the lower intake gasket is now a metal one. Sorry this is so long but I just had to share.

I have 108k on my car, the mechanic showed me the lower intake gasket and it was crumbling. The guy said I don't know how u didn't have any problems. All I can say is the grace of God, this is my daily driver for work which is 20 miles from my house one way.

Sadly, the nylon LIM gaskets are good for 80,000-120,000 miles. Luckily FelPro now makes an aluminum LIM gasket to avoid these issues.

They installed the aluminum gasket this time.
