Stick with 04 ss sc or trade for 06 v8?
 

So, my buddy is looking for a car to buy. His price range is up to 5k. I have a 04 dale earnhardt edition with the supercharged 3.8l v6. I found a 06 SS with 122k on it for 4k, and my buddy and i were talking about it that he'd trade me since he doesn't mod cars and how the v8 is far better than the v6. If he gets it, should i trade him? tbh i really want to.

Honestly when you're talking cars that old with that much mileage, I'd worry less about which you'd prefer if both were in perfect shape, and focus more on the service records, car history, how well it's been kept up, etc. Depending how it was treated, it could be on its death bed, or it could have another 100k+ in it.

I'm just thinking it would suck to trade for it, have the trans puke all over the road in a month, and then have to spend the whole cost of the car just to replace the trans.
