SS nose on a 85 LS 350?

Hey guys, Saw this monte on craigs list thats somewhat in my area. Its an LS with a 350 and it has the SS spoiler, But If i were to buy it if it's a good buy you guys think, what year SS nose would fit it? Also, does the SS have any other addition "cosmetic" parts that id need to purchase? Im debating if i should get this and clone it to an ss. What would be involved Cosmetically? Is it just the nose, and trunk and wheels?

Price sounds good. Hard to tell about the car from that crappy pic. I personally like the LS front end when it had the euro headlights, but I think this one is too old for them. Not sure what is involved withe the front bumper, supports or backing? Aslo as far as the rest of it, you would have lots of body work to do after removing all the chrome. They should have metal studs that will haev to ground off and filler put in and sanded. Heck. it already has the spoiler, leave it like that and fix her up. I had an 86 black one and installed the spoiler and wheels. looked great and that car got more compliments I think thatn any I have ever had, except maybe the Challenger. Sit it up a little off the ground and work it man. Ask for more detailed pics.

I thought the siding had the pins? Like when you take off the chrome underneath was a couple of holes that can be filled? But what im also asking is did the SS have anything else Id ahve to ad? besides the nose and the spoiler i dont think there was anything else. Is there like a strip that went underneath to make the car lower or is that just an illusion from looking at an all black ss and an ls with chrome? also if i didnt want to do the body work now, would sanding, priming, and then painting the chrome be an option? the power train in this car sounds great. Also should i get this? or should i keep waiting for a true SS?

If I were wanting an SS that bad I would jsut wait. No I do not think there was anything else to change.

here is the vehicle. he sent me more pictures. And i dont care if my monte is a "true" ss. I just love the look of the SS and this guy has done about half the work for me in doing so. i will upload pictures now and tell me what you think.

i assume that the first car has a heater core problem, or no heat. i would also ask for cam specs and head/block casting numbers. a mild cam to me might not be so mild to you. i think its important to get a car with as straight of a body as possible cause body work is costly unless your a body guy. i would ask for pics of the floors, wheel wells, frame horns and side shots of the body panels on either car. those are very common rust areas. ss nose swap isnt a huge deal and several companies sell whole kits, but there in the 1000.00 dollar ball park. not to mention if you felt so inclined you could put a third gen camaroor lumina nose on it. personally i would go with the car with the straightest body and work from there. the first car looks ok, and as long as he has some engine specs id say its worth the money. get the vin from the second car i believe that the ss cars can be identified by that. if its a real ss and the body is in good shape its well worth what he wants. its just going to need a drivetrain swap cause the 305/2004r combo is a total pig. good luck and ask for interior pics while youre at it.

im more interested in buying the first car and set up a date to see it this friday since its near my parents house. What makes you question the heater core? i know he told me it doesnt have A/C. also, i dont even understand cams all that well to be fully honost. I'm going to be seeing it in person this friday so ill check every nook and crany. He told me the rear body mounts were replaced, the body was "redone" a couple years back, he has the slips from the transmission rebuild from a garage i actually have heard of as well as the 350 rebuild. inside the trunk there is no rust or on the wheel wells. under the hood is also rust free. how big of an issue is the heater core?

also, when i see it friday i'm not buying it, im looking at it and putting in an offer. I'm thinking of telling him because i'll be responsible for transporting it back home as well as tying up some loose ends, do you think offering him 2300 is fair? or should i offer lower? thanks.

what would i need to put an ss nose on this LS? I know i need the nose ofcourse, this one already had the 4 headlamps not the euro style so itll fit the ss nose. some people are saying online something about the fenders being different? but i thought the 81-86 ls was the same fenders as the ss and all that i'll need is the nose and ill need "extentions" which im not sure how id install.
