Default Speedo problem

Long story short. Made a rwd car and I'm trying to connect an aftermarket electric speedometer sensor into my 2002 ss . The factory wiring is a yellow and a purple wire, neither being a power. Both of the wires go into PCM and come out of it a single wire to dash I believe. The new sensor has 3 1 power, 1 ground and 1 signal. Would I just bypass and go right too dash or ?

Myself, I'd fix that rear end before I worried about the speedo.

Default Awesome

Actually I would love to know the details of this project!
This is essentially a completely different car now with different engineering. Reliability, safety, handling all factor in.

Chassis is a 87 G-body striped down painted, new suspension, eibach drop springs, all new bushings, fuel and brakes lines, 16 gallon cell under trunk where spare was, 2 speed push start powerglide, 3.42 lock right posi in stock 10 bolt , Bassett racing wheels, 409 Cid SBC, 3 inch exhaust with nascar style exhaust tips. The body was a challenge, I made my own firewall, floor tunnel, had to relocate the brake booster because it wouldn't clear the valve cover build my own steering shaft modify the body to fit frame. Engine install was quite a treat to fit under wipers. Air filter even needed to be modified to fit. Still fighting electrical issues need to get tires and probaly a cage to finish the Nascar theme. Took it on a few test drives. ton's of power .

Default Rear drive conversion

Wow. People ask if it's feasible to convert a 6th generation Monte Carlo to rear wheel drive. Would you say it's worth it?

I did all work in my garage on my back, It's a big project and would do again. After taking it for a test drive I can say yes it was worth every minute. Just need to finish.

OK, here's what I found...In the engine controls schematic it shows the A/T ISS (4T65E) having an "A" wire and a "B" wire. The "A" wire is black (AT/ISS sensor High), PCM connector 63 will be Red/Black at connector. The "B" wire is dark green (vehicle speed output)(AT/ISS sensor low), PCM connector pin 55 will be red/black at connector
PCM connector pin 64 (yellow) for VSS High.
PCM connector pin 65 (purple) for VSS Low.

I believe your third wire may be unused like you said, intended for a different application.

Hope this helps.
