some updates
Well I went and got the car yesterday up in Traverse City the 1986 Monte Carlo LS for those who dont havent read my intro. It is in immaculate shape for the price. Yes there a couple of small rust spots, the worser of the 3-4 is about a pea sized hole near the rear wheel. I plan on getting this car repainted grey next summer anyway so the rust issues will be solved. The car also needs some new gauge cluster lights. Are these bulbs somthing I can just pick up at any auto parts store or is this a dealer only type of bulb. Mine are all half burnt out. My 2nd thing is the headliner no biggie there, Just wondering what it will take to replace it $$ money wise. 3rdly and lastly, for some odd reason my heater no matter what setting it is on it will only come out from the floor. There is no heat coming from the vents in the middle or drive area. If I turn to cool it will bring in air from outside but thats it. The heater kicks though and im hot in no time. Im not really sure? I also have no air conditioning as already mentioned but I dont think that would have anything to do with this right? Yeah and my dash is cracked thats the least of my issues and I doubt ill ever fix it. I dont even notice it. I am very impressed, it turns out it was a 1 owner car and driven by 2 old people and mostly the older lady. If anyone knows any of these answers to my odd problem let me know ok? Thanks for readin have a good day all.
As far as the headliner goes,
Pep Boys, Car Quest ect have headliner kits. You will have to remove yours, take the old junk off of the back board and then apply the new headliner to the board. I did my sons car a couple of years ago and after a couple of hours of work it turned out nice
As far as the vents go
Check for a Vacuum leak. If you are only getting air coming out at the feet.

When doinga headliner, make sure to clean the board good before gluing the new material to the headliner board.
I use a scrub brush. Work the fuzzy stuff from the old headliner off or the new material won't stick very well.
You don't have to use a lot of elbow grease to get the old fuzzy stuff off. So take some care as you can damage the headliner board if you get too aggresive.
