Pimp My Ride ... Please!

If you're thinking of rally stripes, I don't think they'd look good on your car with the vinyl top.
But I guess I'd have to see it 'chopped. |

I think I can live without the stripes. But, I don't feel like its going to be an "Official Monte Carlo" without, at least, a Surfboard-style Spoiler. Shouldn't be too hard to find one of them. People take them off and put the Pace Car Style Spoiler on. GOT to be a used one for the takin' someplace! |

Looks EXCELLENT! [sm=Awwww.gif]Except for the vinyl roof and surf boardspoiler, it looks like mine.Actually the color is called Cappacino silver. I have a friend who has one the same color, and you should have heard the discussion when i tried to tell her my car was off white. LOL! Oh yeah, i say no fancy graphics just some nice tires. spoiler would look okay.

i'm thinkin the top is fighting with the rest of the car
and the top being so rare, i think should win out... i think the rest of the car looks more aggressive though... i think it'd look good with all the emblems/ bowties off of it, and some newer 17's off a caddy. i think having a spoiler, different hood, or stripes would be out of place on a car with that top |

There's nothing I can do about the top. I stopped off at a Body Shop and asked if they thought it would be possible to remove it and they said: "Not without doing some serious damage to the paint job. You'd be looking at having to have the whole car painted."
So, the Top is staying on the Monte 'cause I don't have the bread to get the Monte re-painted ... just to have the Vinyl top go bye-bye. But, if this Monte gives me a couple of years worth of fun driving and no big lay-outs for repairs ... I'll consider having her painted and spoiler-ed in the future! I'm just going to work at keeping it clean and detailed. Running as good as I can keep it running. Which IS pretty darn good at the moment. I inched it up over three figures this afternoon chasing a Beemer on 495. Purring! I'll wash it and oil it and treat it right and try not to beat on it. No burn-outs! And, ... maybe I'll get over 100,000 miles on it someday! It's going to be fun trying. Me and Mobil-1 |

I'm losing the big, white BowTie off the rear window. I bought that off eBay when I got the Monte and got a Jones for being a Chevy-Guy. Nobody likes it and it just obscures the view out of the rear window.
Thanks for the kind words about the tops "Uniqueness". OK, it stays! I do need tires and whatever I get have to go with them wheels. The wheels are staying; too! I just need to know what to shop for in a tire that will be a performer, last for a couple years and look good; too. |

The top can stay. But the car looks nekked without a spoiler. All Montes do. A race inspired spoiler would be too much on the car. So my vote (as before) would be a surf board spoiler so it won't take away from the roof.
Rick, I asked MTV to pimp your car for you. A. They weren't quite sure what a Monte should look like? B. No one at the shop MTV hired knew either? C. I've seen a few of these around, I would much rather have one of these then the normal HHR's.

I'll try a different picture in a few minutes, but black doesn't fit all that well to my eyes so I'm going to try a few other colors as well. |

Now that I've seen it striped ... in a wide variety of colors ... including GREEN! ... I guess it looks OK as is. There's no sense trying to make it anything other than what it is. I'm leaving it alone.
But, it sure does look nice with the windows tinted and the dual exhaust tips out the back. Guess I'll put energy into making it look as nice as I can get it without going overboard trying to get it to look like a big Muscle Car. I guess the thing to do is leave it alone ... get the big, white BowTie off the Rear Window and be glad it looks as good as it does. I devote my time and energy to keeping it nice looking and running in tip-top condition ... Stock. Well ... Stock, plus the Fog Lights. I NEEDED to do the Fog Lights. It looked a little "Cheap" with the Fog Lights not in there. They'll be able to come-on and actually illuminate the road by Monday! |

I'd have to win the Lottery to start doing stuff like that. And, I know I didn't win the Lottery, this week, because I didn't buy a ticket ... even though the prize was something ridiculously close to the National Debt. $385,000,000 With that kind of money I won't be buying any new wheels for this Monte of mine ... I'll be at the Marina shining the Brass and Chrome on my Yacht! Then supervising the loading of my Monte onto the Yacht and sailing off to germany to have the Mods done by a German Racing team and spending afternoons seeing if the Monte will go 500 Miles running Flat-out on the Autobahn! I've had her up to 102 for a second. |

I didn't want to say it before, but yeah, the bowtie in the back window should go.
I think you should definitely save up for a surfboard style spoiler, and install it. It would go great with your vinyl top. |

I hit the rear window with a razor blade and got rid of the Bow Tie, today, after finishing the wiring and aiming of the Fog Lights that are FINALLY in ans working according to the plan I had for having them switched so they will remote off either the high beams or low beams.
Wiring the switch fooled me for a second. The circuit wasn't complete until I wired the switch correctly ... which I didn't at first ... there were six terminals on the back of the switch and I had no schematic for it. Wound up doing a Meter-festival until I found the right pattern. Once I did the two relays fired from juice fed from the headlights and the switch selects Hi. lo or off. I won that battle. |
