Painting under the hood...
Hey guys so I've been thinking about taking my supercharger, alternator, valve covers, fuel rails, & all that fun stuff & I was wondering what kind of paint that you guys recommend that I use to do it all.
Also I need to figure out what all colors I wanna paint everything: I know I'll be getting red spark plug wires so that's all sorted out I'm thinking about painting the alternator black Then the actual supercharger idk if i'll paint it all black too or paint it silver or chrome colored The valve cover i'm wanting to get air brushed eventually but for now i have nooo idea what color to paint them & then the fuel rails, idk if I should paint them the same color as the supercharger or if i should paint them a different color to help set them apart & all && i feel like i'm forgetting something but if anyone can tell me how they painted their supercharger or alternator that would be highly appreciated & also I'd appreciate some help on the color stuff :) thanks! |
all black except the sc it's aluminum right? POLISH! that way it jumps out at you but if u plan to keep the engine cover on well black but i'm not much for a ton of diff colored stuff in/on/around the motor it looks cluttered, IMHO & kinda ricey

I think everyone goes through the phase of wanting to do something to their car to make it different with funds, patience and amount of work one wants to do at the minimal. That always leads to painting stuff here and there. Seems like a great idea at the time, but eventually you learn you were being silly and shouldn't have bothered.
So don't paint anything, leave it all as is. |
Ill agree with him^^ its a bug though and youll start to paint more and more.
My opinions Polished Alternator and fuel rail. Red SC Silver valve covers |

So don't paint anything, leave it all as is. I don't know. I kinda agree, but same can be said for modding the car at all. I often wonder why I do it. I think, in the end, I do it because I want something to do (other then posting in the forums). And then I have something to post in the forum. I would definately agree not to be too colorful. But I think painted parts look better then rusty parts. And of course, polished parts look better then painted parts. |
if you have the money, get the sc powdercoated crome. hehe, durable just like the monte and sexy like me!
